| About us 'Most People', the band, originally started out as a recording collaboration between the three founding members, Lisa Couto, Jim Wright and Colin Barry. In 2000, they completed their first release, a laid back album called “A lot of Things”. Most of the tracks were recorded with digital bass and drums, which complimented the volume comprised of mostly ballads. |
| But Lisa, Jim and Colin really wanted to find additional members so that they could create a live sound and play the local club circuit. Now they are a 6-piece band, consisting of guitar, keyboards, drums, bass and saxophone. The band’s new set is high-powered and funky, a contrast to the laid-back style of many of the first tracks they put out. Band members hail from Providence, Warwick and Johnston Rhode Island but practice and record in Johnston. They focus on creating an eclectic blend of Alternative, R&B, Rock, & Funk music and can be found performing at venues such as “The Call” in Providence, Rhode Island. Influences include Jamiroquai, Chaka Kahn, Fiona Apple, and Erika Badu. The group recently released their new album, “Live & Breathe”. Group Members Lisa Couto -- vocals Jim Wright -- keys, guitar, vocals Colin Barry -- guitar & keys Greg Varatta -- drums & percussion Jim Calandrella -- sax Vinny D'Agastino -- bass. | |
